Non-Event and the Mayor’s Office of Arts and Culture are pleased to present two original, site responsive performances by guitarist & experimental musician LAUTARO MANTILLA and composer and sound artist KRISTINA WARREN in the massive concrete interior mezzanine of Boston’s iconic City Hall.

About the artists

Lautaro Mantilla is a guitarist, composer, and improviser from Bogotá,Colombia. In his performances, he typically combines guitar, extended vocalization techniques, and homebuilt electronics to create music that is both viscerally affecting and conceptually rigorous. Based in Boston, Lautaro is active in the free Improvisation music scene and is a faculty member of the Contemporary Musical Arts department at New England Conservatory (NEC)and University of Massachusetts (UMass)in Boston. Lautaro will perform a new work called DISFORIA / DYSPHORIA.

Kristina Warren is a sound artist, composer, and improviser based on Narragansett land, aka Providence, RI. Through performances, installations, recorded media, and other work, Warren explores the logic of cycles, the mutual incursions of real and ideal, and the infinitely contoured ebbs and flows of listening attention. For Non-Event at Boston City Hall, Kristina will perform the latest evolution of her 2026 album Tusk, now delving deeper into the concertina's unique interface as an electronic control system, while also exploring the enmeshed oscillations of noise and silence. Praised as “beautifully organic” (Haarlems Dagblad) and “seductive and erudite” (PanM360), Warren’s work has been presented internationally, including at Flux Festival (Montréal), TIK (Berlin), WORM (Rotterdam), MuseumsQuartier (Vienna), and Infuse (Paris). Recently a MacColl Johnson Fellow (Rhode Island Foundation, 2024), and previously a Fulbright US Scholar (2023) and a Visiting Assistant Professor of Electronic Music & Multimedia (Brown University, 2017-21), Warren holds a PhD in Composition and Computer Technologies (University of Virginia, 2017) and a BA in Music Composition (Duke University, 2011).
