Our apologies for the late notice, but due to the impending storm and travel related issues, Lubomyr Melnyk’s performance for this evening is cancelled. Unfortunately we cannot both put on the show and see him safely out of Boston.
We will reschedule the concert. All patrons who bought tickets in advance will be refunded. We are very sorry to have to cancel the show. Please let any friends know of this change in plans.

LUBOMYR MELNYK is a composer and performer of a new style of piano music called Continuous Music. Demanding extreme technical skill, continuous music music is a new approach to the piano focused on sustained high speed playing which creates an uninterrupted stream of notes and harmonic resonances by combining lyrical melody with atonality. Melnyk also holds the world record as the fastest pianist reaching 19 notes per second in each hand, and having sustained speeds of 13 notes per second for up to an hour continuously. With his unique technical ability, Melnyk has created a style of performance which is completely his own, simultaneously rapid and meditative, with some pieces also performed with multi-tracked recordings for multiple pianos. He has a new collaborative record with James Blackshaw which will be released this fall on Important Records.
Having previously performed on the east coast only a couple of times during his career, this rare performance on both piano and harpsichord is presented in the intimate setting of the Taylor House, with extremely limited seating.
