Saxophonist/composer ASHLEY PAUL has performed at such venues as Merkin Concert Hall, Brooklyn Summer Stage, ISSUE Project Room, the Stone, and the Banlieues Bleues Festival in Paris. She was awarded a fellowship grant from the Rhode Island State Council on the Arts in Music Composition in 2010 and was an Artist-in-Residence at the ISSUE Project Room in 2008. She performs regularly with pianist/ composer Anthony Coleman both as a duo and in his band, Damaged by Sunlight, as well as in the duos, Aster (with percussionist Eli Keszler) and Paul & Maurey (with multi-instrumentalist Sakiko Mori). In addition she has performed with Phill Niblock, Loren Connors, Roscoe Mitchell, Joe Maneri, Greg Kelley, Ran Blake, Satoshi Takeshi, Brad Jones, Joe Morris, and Charles Cohen.

Multi-instrumentalist SAKIKO MORI grew up in Japan and graduated from Berklee College of Music in 2004. She has collaborated with a wide array of musicians and groups in performance, recordings, films, animations, dance, and theatre. Sakiko currently lives in Providence, RI where she performs and records with Ashley Paul as part of Paul & Maurey, in Daily Life with Christopher Forgues (Kites, Mark Lord), Make A New Memory (with Geoff Mullen). In the past she has worked with Cybele Collins (Blue Shift), Eli Keszler, Jeremy Harris (Lazy Magnet), and Scott Reber (Work/Death).

Sakiko and Ashley began performing and recording together as Paul & Maurey in late 2009. Their first collection of songs “Satellite” will be released on Wagtail in mid-October and there is more to come!
