Carl Calm originated as an extension of the ecstatic Cabo ethos and has evolved into an exploration of electronic music in general. Presently, Lanham’s work focuses primarily on live sample manipulation of analog and digital synthesizers and drum machines, microcassette, and field recordings. Lanham performs live on hardware samplers and modular synthesizer, creating synthetic landscapes and abstract fractured rhthyms. He currently resides in Charleston, SC and has seen works released by Dekorder, DNT, Digitalis, and Students of Decay, among others.
