Gilmore Tamny is a musician, artist and writer living in Somerville, MA. She plays with the band Weather Weapon as well as performing solo instrumental guitar work. Weather Weapon is in the process of recording their second record. Her video solo performance of “THUNDER KITTEN THUNDER” will be shown in the European Media Arts Festival in April 2016. She has also played in The Yips, who released three full-length records, Delicious Pizza, Mike Rep and the Quotas and Chanel No. 5. She received her MFA in 2002 from Emerson College and her novel My Days with Millicent is being serialized online at Ohioedit. As a visual artist, she’s been working on the series “Lines, Dots, Circles” for the last several years using both her right and left hand. These drawings have been in solo and group shows, published in literary magazines and incorporated into video projections. She was Somerville’s (MA) November 2014 Artist of the Month. She is a committed artiste, feminist, rawk fan, old master painting junkie, audio book listener as well as enthusiastic Girls Rock Camp Boston volunteer.
