After finishing a philosophy degree specializing in Husserlian phenomenology in the mid-1990s, ANGELA SAWYER felt fully prepared to start astonishing audiences around the Boston area using her mouth, some broken electronics, toys, and noisemakers. Impromptu squealing and gargling has become her specialty, and she’s released a steady trickle of small-run LPs, CDs, CDrs, and cassettes over the years. Changing the names of her projects to suit her every whim, the current active roster includes Preggy Peggy and the Lazy Babymakers, Duck That, Exusamwa, and Victor Coker and the Yacht Club. Angela has also been selling vinyl locally for more than 20 years, and runs the one and only Weirdo Records in Cambridge.

This program is supported in part by a grant from the Brookline Commission for the Arts, a local agency supported by the Massachusetts Cultural Council.
