Non-Event is pleased to partner again this year with the composer and musician Nomi Epstein to present a workshop of Deep Listening®, a practice developed by Pauline Oliveros, exploring an awareness of our attention to and relationship with sound. The workshop is geared toward adults. No musical experience is necessary.
Epstein describes the event: “Engaging with the core principles of the practice, we'll move through a series of exercises in listening, sonic meditation, movement, and imagination, allowing our senses to be opened, enabling us to feel a greater connection to our bodies, to others, and to the world around us.”
Nomi Epstein is an experimental music practitioner devoted to a focused listening practice. Her work embraces subtlety, an uncovering of sounds, and a gratitude for the daily sounds she finds around her.
