The Support Series is an monthly series of online fundraisers to raise money for and awareness of local social & racial justice organizations. This month, we're encouraging people to donate to a new public art initiative by Roxbury's Black Market Nubian's. The goal of the Nubian Public Art Initiative is to develop a series of public murals and installations as a catalyst for neighborhood economic empowerment by the community, for the community.

We urge you to learn more about Black Market Nubian... and donate, if you can!

This is the third in a series of online concerts to raise money for social change. Each event will raise money for a different organization working for social and racial justice in Boston and beyond.

About the artists
ANDREA PENSADO is an experimental musician, composer, and organizer, based in Salem, Massachusetts. While she initially composed for acoustic instruments, she was increasingly attracted to working with electronics to create a far more abrasive sound world. In her current work, she employs a highly personal sonic language using harsh, dense layers of sounds, often interwoven with her voice. Her live, interactive musical systems and use of invented language combine into inherently unstable performances full of ecstatic energy. In addition to her solo work, she has longtime collaborations with Chris Strunk & Walter Wright as Los Condenados, and Jen Gelineau & Stephanie Germaine as Phurnne. She also curates the Sonorium concert series in Salem.

BROMP TREB is the onomatopoeic flailings of Neil Young Cloaca. Composing and improvising with intentionally unstable systems of his own devising, he joyfully uses/misues busted circuits, collaged beats, cheap effects pedals, poor drumming technique, and tape manipulation to make idiosyncratic music / non music. Hince 2002 or so, he has put many recordings in circulation and has performed at fancy-pants places like ICA Boston and the High Zero Festival as well as countless basements, bars, lofts, living rooms, closets and art spaces all around North America and Europe. He lives in Western Massachusetts

Known for his insubordinate and virtuosic improvisational approach to electroacoustic music, id m theft able’s performances consist of stream-of-consciousness vocal technique, performative manipulations and gestures with collected objects, as well as the use of an amplified wire and wood sculpture that amasses echoes, shrieks, crashes, and creaks — assembling all manner of media sources. His works fit into an expansive visual universe and release history collected in mangdisc, an audiovisual label that serves as a vehicle for distribution (including a “found” series) that releases modest quantities of individualized works presented in whatever medium is available at the time. Id M Theft Able performs within and without the realms of noise, avant-improvisation, sound poetry, performance, etc. using voice, found objects, electronics, and whatever else is available. He has given hundreds of performances across four continents in various settings.

M AZEVEDO is a Providence, RI based composer, mastering engineer, and acoustician who works with infrasound, seismic vibration, radio waves, and other inaudible wave phenomena to explore the relationship between people and their unsensed environment. Their work as RETRIBUTION BODY uses custom subwoofers and modular synthesizers to generate subbass frequencies which activate the modal resonances of built environments, auralizing the architecture of performance spaces though dense fields of standing waves. Retribution Body uses Zen meditation practice as a framework to understand and communicate their lived experience as an autistic person immersed in unseen social currents, crafting work that is simultaneously minimalist and overwhelming.
